While doing my Digital Portfolio on Weebly, I learned that you need to associate yourself in a lot of extracurricular activities and have volunteer experience to make it look official. My favorite part of this project was asking people for reference letters. Seeing what positive things they had to say about you was satisfying. I also liked the difficulty of the project because it was like anything I've ever done. Aside from the help I got from Mrs. Lundquist, I really had to depend on myself for completing everything efficiently so I could get it done on time. My least favorite part of this project was writing the cover letter. I did not like this part because it was hard to make up things you have accomplished in college simply because I have not attended college yet.
While completing the Personality Profile and Skills Inventory, I was completely honest with my responses. My results depicted an accurate reflection of me because I have always been a leader and I like working with kids. The career results that I got definitely correspond with what I would like to do after high school. Coaching has always been a job that I would consider for my future. Some new things that I learned about this career choice is that you have to be flexible and that there are odd working hours. It is hard to tell what I want to do for the rest of my life, being only a freshman, but coaching is a definite possibility. It suits my personality well along with my skills.

Stand Out Week
My presentation is about the dangers of distracted driving and the effects it can have on your life and other's lives. The presentation also shows some of the results we gathered from giving an online survey. It gives examples and statistics of real-life situations. It shows the deadly after affects of car accidents.

Class Reflection
While being in online experience, I have experienced and learned many new things about the internet that will help me in the long run. Some things I will use throughout my life and others I will never use again but it is better to know and have the knowledge.
Technology is one of the many things we worked on while in this class. It is important to learn because everyday the technology world is rapidly growing and becoming better. If you don't learn about it now then you will quickly fall behind. Technology has already changed within the course of the past five years. Televisions have now become 3D and computers have webcams built in. Before you know it, in the upcoming five years there could be robots teaching in the classrooms.
Technology we use for classwork is anything from Microsoft applications to using search engines for research. In my everyday life, I use social networking sites and email to keep in contact with family and friends.
My favorite point of this class was learning about things like Copyright, Identity Theft and Domains because all three can be applied to real-life situations and you have to be able to know what is safe to use or it could lead to a dangerous situation.
This class wasn't just about getting the credit, it was also to supply us with the experience and intelligence to use for our futures. We learned about different kinds of tools. After this class is over with, I will most likely still use Delicious because it is a good way to organize and keep all of your bookmarked websites in one place. Another thing I would like to keep up with is my IGoogle. I found Igoogle to be a very cool and unique homepage. You can access your RSS feed and anything else you need really.
Learning about how to be safe on the internet is one of the most important concepts about computing and I can apply it in my everyday life because I use the internet frequently. I will remember these tips for a long time. My favorite tool to create was the Wiki because I could deffinately use this in the future, whether it be in a job or college.
The only thing I believe I won't use ever again is Avatars. I thought they were fun to experiment with but I did not find them to be useful. My least favorite tool was the podcasting because it was time consuming and made my computer slow.
Overall, I feel this class was informative and helpful. I enjoyed the things we talked about. I liked how it was a combination of what a student loves and how a teacher can keep you safe.
Thank you Mrs. Fowler!
